Christopher Mitchell

Hello! I am so excited about being your students' 5th-grade teacher.  I was raised here in North Phoenix and am a former student of the Deer Valley Unified School District.  I have a Bachelor's Degree in business from Grand Canyon University, but working in an office didn't appeal to me.   I have a background of teaching Martial Arts to kids, and realized that is what I really wanted to do.

I am a second-year teacher, but I worked as a paraprofessional at another school during the 2023-2024 school year.  There, I learned to help kids remain focused and engaged in small groups.  That ignited the idea of teaching for me on a larger level.

My class expectations will always go back to respect and responsibility. I hold my students up to high expectations and work towards behaving, having respect for themselves, their peers and any teacher while instilling them to take ownership of their actions. I want them to leave feeling respected and learning how to respect others and be successful in their higher educations.
