**Drop Off and Pick Up: Drop off and pick up at the middle gate by the bus lane. (see picture below) The gate will open at 7:58 am. It will be locked by 8:15 am. If you need to drop off your child after 8:15 am, please go through the front office. The gate will then open back up at 2:50 for student pick up. Please let me know if you would like your child to be dropped off or picked up at another location. This can only happen if you are OK with your child walking without an adult.
Lunch: For students in our class who require feeding services or have a specific diet, feel free to pack things that need to be kept cold (we have a full-sized fridge) or heated up (we have a microwave). Please also send a refillable water bottle every single day with your child’s name written on it.
Labeling: We love to share items in our classroom so please label any materials that you would like only your child to use, such as markers, scissors, diapers, wipes, etc.
Homework: There will be no homework from my class as we our workload in class will be more demanding; however, if classwork does not get finished, it will be sent home for homework. It is also recommended that you read to or with your child at least 20 minutes per day.
Classwork: We’ll learn and work on all subjects (reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and social skills) using our new curriculum called Unique Learning Systems. This is a modified curriculum that focuses on grade-level standards at a lower ability and reading level. They will also work on their IEP goals and receive their specialized services in their qualified areas as listed on their IEP.
Backpacks: Please make sure your child brings their backpack daily for important papers coming home. We will send home the work they’ve completed in class from time to time when we need to empty our filing cabinets after they have been graded and input into the gradebook. If there is something important coming to school in a child’s backpack, please alert me so we know to look in it, as we don’t always check backpacks daily.

Absences: If your child will be absent, you need to contact the office at 602-467-5900. Please also text me, or I will reach out to you, because I worry. ☺
Specials: Each week, students will get to participate in the following specials during their specific grade level times: P.E., Art, and Music. Meaning they will have the same specials for one week, then rotate to a different one. Check my peek of the week to see which specials your kid will have and make sure he/she brings tennis shoes during the PE week. The schedule changes each quarter. If you would like a copy of the specials schedule, please contact us. Since our class has every grade level, students will follow a different grade level schedule.
