Dear Speech Students & Families,

Greetings and welcome back to the 2025-2026 school year at Sunrise Elementary! I’m Alyssa Bartle, and I’ll be working with your child as their Speech Language Pathologist this year. Joining me is the amazing Tracey Odorcic, our Speech Language Pathology Assistant. To all our returning families, it's wonderful to have you back! And to those new to Sunrise, we’re thrilled to meet you and your child!

A bit about me—I’m entering my fifth year with the Deer Valley Unified School District and my third at Sunrise. I’m from beautiful Colorado but made Arizona my home twelve years ago. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education and Communication Disorders from Utah State University in 2019 and completed my master’s in Speech-Language Pathology at Midwestern University, Glendale, in May 2021.

This school year, we’ll continue working toward the goals outlined in your child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), focusing on strengthening their speech and language skills. Speech services are scheduled to begin the week of August 4, 2025, and we’ll be finalizing therapy schedules in the coming days.

Family involvement plays an important role in your child’s progress, and I encourage open communication throughout the year. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need support along the way.
